Provide accurate and economical information about processing tomatoes through inspection and special services, while remaining responsive and cooperative to our industry’s needs.
THE PROCESSING TOMATO ADVISORY BOARD (PTAB)
The tomato producers and processors of California created the PTAB Marketing Order to inspect all loads of processing tomatoes. PTAB inspects ripe tomatoes bound for processing plants in California, not fresh market tomatoes going to restaurants and grocery stores. PTAB is privately funded and tied to the Marketing Branch of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for its charter.
